Violin is one of the classical instruments which can pull at our very soul with its sound. If handled well, any piece can be transformed into something beautiful with the violin. It is one thing to appreciate the sound of violin; it is another to produce them. Beginning violin lessons is the best way to learn how to play. To do it we may need money, effort and time. However, to be really good at it, we need dedication, perseverance and passion.

The most important factor in beginning violin lessons is a good quality violin. Of course, what are we going to pay with if we don’t have our own violin? Actually, we get this not just for heck of getting a good quality violin but because of the sound it produces. After securing a good quality violin, we need to get a good violin teacher. We can ask around our neighborhood or we can search the internet for local violin teachers in our area. This way we can have someone who will teach us the techniques and basics of learning how to play the violin first hand. The good thing about having a teacher is that they know what its like to start learning how to play the violin and they can easily spot mistakes and areas for improvement. Guidebooks cannot do this for us. Although it is helpful in giving us idea on what playing the violin must be like, it doesn’t give us feedback on how we are doing. We need this comments, suggestions and constructive criticisms to improve.

After having a good teacher to lead us into our journey of learning the violin, we need to set a routine for ourselves that will accommodate the additional activity. We don’t just need time for the lessons but also for the practice. The practices are considered to be separate from the lessons because these are the times where we play the violin alone and listen to the sound we make with it. This is the time where our muscles usually get used to playing the violin that our body eventually feels comfortable doing it. Beginner violin lessons are actually the stage where we adjust to the whole idea of playing the violin. Like in everything else, starting is always the hardest part.

While we are still beginning violin lessons, we need to learn how to take care of our own violin. We need to always remember the proper way to hold the bow and never put pressure on its ends because it already has too much pressure. It may snap or break under additional pressure. We can get tips from our own teacher or from the guidebooks we are using. There are also materials on the net which can give us a better insight on how to take care of our violins.

All in all, beginning violin lessons require a lot from us. However, we need not fear or worry because our hard work will be rewarded for sure. Being able to play our favorite piece using our own violins would be a reward enough.
